Sunrise, fog, wind, and sand speak to impermanence, uncertainty, and renewal, while towboats, locks, and dams trace the enduring relationship between people, industry, and the natural world. In the days that followed Sandy Haynes began documenting what remained—not with a camera alone, but through paint. Forgotten: North St. Louis Homes One Year Later brings together approximately fourteen works from Haynes’ ongoing series inspired by the tornado and its aftermath. Her paintings depict damaged and partially destroyed homes with an artist’s sensitivity to architecture, place, light, and memory.
